Redaction that actually removes the content

The most common redaction mistake is drawing a black rectangle on top of text. The text is still in the file underneath, and anyone can recover it by copy-pasting or running text extraction — a mistake that has leaked court filings, contracts, and government documents. Real redaction has to delete the hidden content, not hide it.

Lime Kit does it the safe way: any page you redact is rendered to an image, the black boxes are painted into the pixels, and the page is re-embedded as that image — so the text and graphics beneath a box are gone, with nothing to copy back out. Pages you don't touch are copied through untouched, so they stay crisp and their text stays selectable.

Two ways to mark redactions: drag a box over anything — text, a signature, a photo, a logo (works on scanned PDFs too) — or type a word or number and redact every occurrence across all pages at once (text-based PDFs). Review the boxes, then Apply & download.
